Our Commitment to Accessibility
Fiddle is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to guarantee we provide equal access to all users.
We believe that the web should be accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or disability. Our goal is to permit all users, including those who use assistive technologies, to navigate, understand, and interact with our platform effectively.
WCAG Compliance
Fiddle strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
The Four Principles of WCAG
- 1Perceivable
Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. This includes providing text alternatives for non-text content and captions for multimedia.
- 2Operable
User interface components and navigation must be operable. This means functionality must be available from a keyboard and users must have enough time to read and use content.
- 3Understandable
Information and the operation of the user interface must be understandable. Content should be readable and predictable, with input assistance to help users avoid and correct mistakes.
- 4Robust
Content must be robust enough to be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.
Accessibility Features
Fiddle incorporates the following accessibility features to enhance usability for all users:
- Semantic HTML Structure: Proper use of headings, landmarks, and ARIA attributes to ensure content is structured logically for screen readers.
- Color Contrast: Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) to ensure readability.
- Alternative Text: All meaningful images include descriptive alternative text to convey information to users who cannot see images.
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus states on all interactive elements help keyboard users track their location on the page.
- Resizable Text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Skip Links: Skip navigation links allow keyboard users to bypass repetitive content and jump directly to main content.
- Form Labels: All form inputs have associated labels to ensure screen reader users understand what information is required.
- Error Identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified and described to help users correct mistakes.
